Laser eye surgery
Anyone had it done? Any success stories, recommended companies and price it cost you?

I only know one guy who had it done and it has seriously messed up his eyes!

I thought it was pretty sound nowadays and cheap as chips?

I had both eyes done at Moorfields 12 years ago, think it cost around 4.5k got fighter pilot vision per the opticians. Would definitely recommend it, my prescription was slight though -1.5 in both eyes.

Re: Laser eye surgery
I've heard it has to be redone every ten years?

Anyway, my eyes are ruined not even eye surgery could help.

BAD AIDS.

I just knew, KNEW you'd pipe up.

All the above is correct, yet i'm STILL more attractive than you.

Had one eye done 21 years ago in a clinic in Harley St. No issues since. They advised against both eyes and if I had both done I would now need reading glasses.

Mate had it done 15 years ago, just been diagnosed with a detached retina.

Re: Laser eye surgery
I had it done 1½ ago. Total price with examination, medicine and surgery at £500
It was done in Romania, as I know some doctors there. They put me in touch with a bloke who is renowned world wide within this field of medicine.

Only downside is that you get a perfect clear picture of your missus.

might be worth remembering that post-op you will have complete clarity while watching west ham.

the blurred version might be preferable.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Mate...that's your EYESIGHT you're playing with. Absolutely not worth risking.

Re: Laser eye surgery
Mate had it done over 20 years ago ,needs glasses to drive now so pretty good value all in all.

I’m with nurse tho. Wearing bins is only a slight inconvenience compared to anything going wrong.

Re: Laser eye surgery
My brother in law had it done a few years back for a slight short sightedness correction, cost him a couple of grand.
Next thing he knew he needed reading glasses which he didn't before, regrets the surgery big time.

Re: Laser eye surgery
Had it done 20 years ago, overall it’s been fantastic.
It is inconvenient for a couple of days but that’s a small price to pay.

Re: Laser eye surgery
Same as Bertie, the wife had it done over 20 years ago and it has been excellent and cost effective as don't have to keep shelling out for contacts etc.

Re: Laser eye surgery
I'm pretty short sighted and wear glasses and did ask my optician about this but he said I would just need reading glasses which TBH seems more hassle than having specs and just looking under them or taking them off to read.

Re: Laser eye surgery
Had lasik surgery two years ago.
-7 and -7-75 plus astigmatism.
No need for reading glasses yet but I’m close, I was warned about this.
Did the op to keep my job which has strict medical requirements.
2bags from Optimax it cost me.
All good and better than 20/20 whereas before I’d give mr magoo a run for he’s money.

Re: Laser eye surgery
I had to have a cataract removed 3 weeks ago today. Had a new lens put in, it took 20 mins in theater. An eye patch until the next morning and then only at night for 2 weeks. No problems just a bloodshot eye for a few days. Did not cost me anything at St George’s hospital.

I think Steven should spend the money on more pressing matters such as his chronic dullness. Far more debilitating than his countless other faults.

Re: Laser eye surgery
I had my lenses replaced in 2013 in Prague.
Refractive lens exchange it was called. I wish it was free for me.
If you are wondering, the wobbly lens effect goes away, as does the edge to your peripheral vision.
I remember how sharp my vision was, for the first time ever. Didn't last though. Can still see well, but not like when it was first done.
